Social Events

This year the social programming at the YJA convention is a culmination of all your favorite YJA events from past conventions. We will make this years attendees get an honest chance to network with their peers to create memories that will last a lifetime. The Social Programming at this convention will include a wide array of truly unique and interesting experiences. Let's be serious; we all know you want to hang out and chill with your new friends... our goal is to make sure these programming activities will be unforgettable.

Garba Raas & Ice Cream Mixer

The first night will begin with Garba-Raas including a live band keeping the scene hot! To cool down after the Garba-Raas, we will be having an Ice-Cream mixer to give you the chance to apologize for the flying dandia!

Dance Fusion Competition

Dance-Fusion. The first ever YJA Dance Competition. Talented participants made up of teams and individuals from all across the nation will put together their best moves as they compete to be crowned the Dance-Fusion Champions at the 2008 YJA Convention. (More information about this event will be provided mid-February)

The Mela

Following the Dance Fusion, we will have the Mela which will be a massive celebration set up like a carnival with various booths, activities, games, music and some delightful surprises!

The Red Carpet Affair

The last night's event speaks for itself. The Red-Carpet Affair. Formal attire will be strictly enforced, but creative expression is also mandatory. Music and entertainment will be provided by some of the most talented DJ's spinning Hip Hop, Bollywood, Bhangra, R&B, and everything you can think of!

Come strut your stuff down the red carpet at the grand finale of YJA 2008...
