Southeast
Regional Conference |
where:
Lock-in at Jain Society of Atlanta Temple |
theme: Generation Jain: Retaining the Essence, Evolving the
Practice
|
|
when: January 7th - January 8, 2006 |
|
Throughout many generations, the practice
of Jainism has changed in many ways. These changes come with
time and have also evolved as people move from India to different
countries like the United States. Most Jains try to keep their
culture/ religion alive; however, individuals maintain their
religion in different ways. This conference will allow youth
to come together and learn about how the practice of Jainism
has changed through generations and also talk about how they
practice it today. As well as learning about practices from
and adult’s point of view, youth will also get to discuss
Jainism in their lives. This conference allows youth from
the Southeast region to come together and share their ideas.
