Drivers Wanted!

We will be carpooling from Boston, NYC and Washington DC area. If you need ride to the retreat location please email us at retreat@yja.org
YJA is looking for individuals that are willing to carpool with some of your fellow campers as well as help with transportation between the lodges to the ski slopes. If you would like to help us out with transportation, please e-mail us or let us know when you register online. Everyone will chip in on gas and that way we’ll have enough vehicles to get back and forth from our field trips up in the Poconos.

Safety Policy

This is Third retreat NE Winter Retreat is an intimate environment where attendees will have an opportunity to learn about Jain values, meet old friends, and meet new ones. After two succesful retreats YJA again wants to ensure that everyone has a great time, there are a few basic but important ground rules that all attendees are expected to follow. Please be respectful of each other, in terms of your speech and actions. Any comments or language that is inappropriate will not be tolerated towards each other in away way. There is also a strict policy against alcohol consumption. Those who are reported to have acted inappropriately and in ways that deter everyone from having a fun time will be subject to stringent consequences. We apologize if this sounds limiting or harsh to anyone, but due to situations in the past, we have been moved to clearly state the boundaries to ensure that everyone learns, grows, is respected, and has fun!

How long are we going to be in sessions?
Most sessions will be between 60 and 90 minutes long. There will be ample time in between sessions for a quick snack and a restroom break.

What if I have to leave during the conference?
Sorry, guys, for your safety, we’d like to ask you to remain on the premises for the duration of the conference unless authorized to do so by the Regional Coordinator or Conference Committee. If you do leave, we won’t be able to let you back in. In case of emergencies, attendees can receive permission from the Regional Coordinator to leave the conference.

What kind of clothes do I need to bring?
Well, it is February, so don’t forget your winter coats! Hats, gloves, socks, and the works are great for outdoors, especially for the snow tubing. Keep in mind that we’ll be doing yoga, hiking, and snow tubing, so bring comfortable shoes and clothing for these activities. Otherwise, it’s up to you, but just remember to keep your clothes kosher and appropriate for a YJA retreat.

What does registration cost cover?
The registration cost includes lodging, food, educational materials, and souvenirs. Each attendee is responsible for additional charges such as skiing and snow tubing .

Will I need to bring extra spending money?
You won't be needing any money at the conference itself, but we recommend bringing extra money for snow tubing or skiing and a small amount of spending cash for food at the slopes.

Will there be any doctors on site?
There will not be any doctors on site but safety is a priority, and if anything goes wrong, medical attention is only a few minutes away.
